Winners’ Resource Center will open its computer lab in August 2018.
The lab will be a resource for job seekers, families to complete paperwork for social services and children for homework.
Additional future features will also include availability for community programs to host events in the lab as well as workshops to learn basic computer skills.
While the library and other public entities offer these services, there are none within walking distance of Winners’ neighborhood. Many of the residents nearby do not own cars and rely on public transportation to visit facilities providing computer access.
Winners’ is currently looking for software, life skills, and software instructors to volunteer 1-2 hours per month.
